Stand-up comedy is more popular than ever right now, with comedians like Kevin Hart, Amy Schumer, and Dave Chappelle selling out arenas and making millions of dollars in the process. With just a few clicks, comedians can now reach audiences all over the world thanks to social media, which has also made stand-up comedy more accessible.

Stand-up comedy is a significant cultural artifact in addition to being an entertaining form of entertainment. It reflects the values and attitudes of the society that gave rise to it. They asserted, for example, that in "Negroes all the passions, emotions, and ambitions, are almost wholly subservient to the sexual instinct" and "this construction of the oversexed black male parlayed perfectly into notions of black bestiality and primitivism." As a Black woman, I was brought up to undermine stereotypes, to defy the odds.
